COMPETITION LAMBS
< results announced JUDGE PRAISES QUALITY Lambs entered in the Poverty Baydistrict fat lamb competition, conducted by the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association under the auspices of the New Zealand Meat; Board, were slaughtered and judged at the Kaiti freezing works to-day. A total of 56 pen,s were entered, but only 51 pens came forward. Results were:— P. Butler, Patutahi .1 C. G. Holdsworth, Waikohu ... 2 and 3 The judge, Mr. J. Barr, congratulated the prize-winners on their sucqess, and -said the winning pen was typical of the Southdown breed in every respect and was "what was" required by the London market. The display was good, and on the whole was more, uniform than the .entries in Hawke’s Bay. The Gisborne district display should give the Hawke’s Bay lambs a good fight in the competition.
