LONDON WOOL SALES (Received December 1,2 p.in.) LONDON, Nov. 30. At tlie wool sales, 10,462 bales were offered, including 4942 from New Zealand, and approximately 8385 bales were sold. New Zealand sales: Greasy crossbred, Make, lOd, 7|d; slipe, halfbred lamb, l’areora. 12|d ; scoured combings, Rhoboro Downs, 17d, 16?,d. STERLING ON NEW YORK (Received December 1. 2 p.in.) NEW YORK, Nov. 30. Sterling closed at 3193 cents, up 4| cents, cheered by news that the British war debt note was ready. Speculative short covering may have influenced the rise. The Canadian dollar closed § cent higher at 84f cents. The first apricots of the season reached Yuckland from the Thames last week and sold at 9s per case. Good progress is being made with the reopening of the nil bores at Kotuku. tome of the former wells are being reconditioned and it is expected that boring operations will be ill full swing again shortly.
