WARNING BY JUDGE DEFENDANT NOT CALLED (Per Press Association,) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. In the Supreme Court ease concerning the dispute over the ownership of the horse Red. Shadow, the plaintiff being Emily Frances Grieve and the defendant William George Devell, Mr Justice Ostler, after hearing the evidence for the plaintiff regarding Deyell’s signatures on certain documents, intimated that if the defendant Deyell gave evidence that he did not sign the agreement, and His Honor concluded that Deyell was committing perjury, he.would not hesitate to direct that Deyell be prosecuted for perjury. iDeycfl was not called and His Honor entered judgment for the plaintiff. The main question involved was whether Deyell agreed to give Frederick Ashley Neale a half-share in the horse, which half-share Neal transferred to Grieve.
