A meeting was held in the Manutahi Hall to discuss the installation of a town water supply. Mr. A. W. Kirk was appointed to the chair and Mr. D. Doherty, secretary.. The whole atmosphere of the meeting indicated that all were in favor of the project as it was a real necessity to the town. It was also decided that Messrs. I). Mullooly, C. Woodford, 11. Kershaw, W. H. O. Johnstone and P. Burton should attend at the investigation. A proposal by Mr. H. Kershaw that a rodeo bo held to help to provide funds for the enterprise was then discussed. Mr. Parker, Gisborne, at tended, and the suggestions and infer mation imparted by hint were very useful to the committee which, knowing very little about such matters, was pleased that it bad the services of such a person at a time when they woro most needed. The date- arranged was January 3, the day following! the Tikitiki sports, when it is anticipated that the
attendance will be considerable. The committee intends to use only steers from three-year-old, and as this is a novelty on the Coast those attending should be assured of a great deal of enjoyment.
