LOCAL BODY COSTS
ECONOMIES IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) Rev. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Nov. 26. Savings in expenditure from rates and taxes amounting to between £38,000,000 and £43,000,000 compared with 1929-30 are recommended in two reports on local economy in England, Wales and Scotland, made by committees set up in July. The committees readied their recommendations after surveying the whole field of local expenditure, particularly education, housing, roads, public health, and public assistance.
