AMUSEMENTS

MAJESTIC THEATRE “Society Girl,” that unconventional and wholly delightful romance of u professional prize-lighter and a pampered, young society pot, featuring James Dunn, Peggy Shannon and Spencer Tracy, will conclude a popular season at the Majestic Theatre this evening. The “fight scenes” are particularly noteworthy. Ren' Lyon, the popular young leading man who \yill be recalled for Ids excellent performance in ‘Hell's Angels,’’ and Rose Hobart, of “East of Borneo’’ fatp9, are co-stnnod in “Compromised," wliich will succeed “Society Girl” ; t the Majestic Theatre on Tuesday. ?n this modern version of the Cinderella tlnjnic, Miss. Hobart is cast as Ann, maid of all work in a mill-town boardinghouse, while “Prince Charming,” in the person of Sidney, only son of John Brock, a mill-owner, is played by, Rea Lyon. To protect her from the sneers and ill-usages of toe landlady, Sidney with characteristic impetuosity marries Ann, who is in turn scorned by her snobbish father-in-law and the sophisticated divorcee to whom Tier husband was formerly engaged, and who secretly plans to win the young husband away from his wife and little son. Rose Hobart gives a good portrayal of the persecuted young wife, while Ben Lyon gives a stin dv performance as the hero. The child part is plaved by tiny Delmar Watson. Claude GOlingwater portrays the old millionaire, and Juliette Comoton is effective ns the worldly rival of Ann. A wellchosen supporting nmgrammo accompanies "Compromised.”
