120 APPLICANTS
HANGMAN FOR POLAND MUST BE TEETOTALLER (Received Nov. 26, noon) WARSAW, Nov. 25. Poland is seeking a teetotal hang man. ) The last holder of the office was dis missed for dunkenness while on duty.
Arthur Braun, who was appointed, with his two assistants, adjourned to a public house to celebrate bis good fortune. The three were very shortly very drunk, and beat the occupants of the bar with brandv bottles. Braun was immediately dismissed.
The Minister of Justice is now pondering on the qualifications of 120 applicants for the hangmanship.
