TE KARAKA CLUB VISIT OF KAHUTIA PLAYERS The Kahutia Bowling Club fulfilled its opening day promise, and a representative team of 23 players visited 1° Karaka on Thursday evening. jhe green was in particularly good order, and some splendid games were very evenly contested. The results were as follows, Kahutia players being mentioned first in each case:— Young, Lynskey, Eaton, Power (s) 17 v. Askew, Graham, Wilson, Manuel (s) 23. Martin, jun., Whitehead, Dunlop, Bodcrick (s) 17 v. Parker, Hay, Keane, G. Bell (s) 13 Oman, (Solvander, Jackson, Bragg (s) 19 v. Murray, Stephenson, R. 8011, Murray (s) 24 McKinlay, Baker, Pollock, Morse (s) 22 v. Nissen, Sutton, Harker, Buckingham (s) 18. Bayne, Ingram, Bilham, Dudfield (s) 24 v. Jones, Burnett, McGrannaclian, Cato (s) 22. Walker and P. Smith (s) 20 v. Earnsliaw and Holland (s) 23. The final result was a draw, each club having won three games. Jn (lie unavoidable absence of the president, Mr. 11. M. Harker, the lion, secretary thanked the Kahutia players foi their visit, and expressed the local players’ appreciation of the fine spirit in which the games had been contested, lie added that tho future of country clubs depended very greatly on the experience local players gained as (ho result of such visits, and hoped that Kahutia would arrange a second visit and that other town clubs would follow this lead.
Mr. P. Smith, president of the Kahutia club, returned thanks for the h»ppy evening which every member of tho team had enjoyed, and on behalf of bis club extended a hearty invitation to tho To Karaka club to visit Kahutia at an early date. The ladies who accompanied the Kahutia players wero entertained at a five hundred tournament, which resulted : Kahutia, 16 flags; Te Karaka, 14 flags. Trophies were presented to the winning ladies.
