DETAILED EVIDENCE
ALLEGED MURDER CASE AGAINST TARRANT (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, last night. The trial of Edward Tarrant, who is charged with the murder at Picton on November 3, 193.1, of an old man named James Flood, was continued to-day. After the lunch adjournment, the evidence followed closely on the lines of that given in the lower court. It was tedious and technical evidence, traversing transactions with tradesmen by the accused, the cashing of notes similar to those allegedly stolen from Flood, and amounts paid to the accused for work done. The Crown ’s object was to prove the accused’s sudden accession to wealth after the | murder of Flood. I A. number of witnesses of this elass are to be called, after which the trdial will grow in interest with the evidence of Detective Jarrold, who worked up the ease against Tarrant.
