In the House of Commons, Major W E. Elliot announced that the Govern meut was appointing a meat reorganisa tion committee to deal with the question of fat stock, with Colonel LaneFox as chairman.
Major Elliot add.)! that a commitlee representative of the meat trade is being appointed to watch the problem of retail prices in connection with the operation of the schemes of meat restriction. The committee would be chosen from representatives of all the bodies engaged in handling meat, including co-operative stores, and big and little shops, the Marquis of Linlithgow being an independent chairman.
It was desirable that the interests of the -consumer should be kept closely jn the front of the picture, and the committee would do that. The Government was determined to grapple with the problem of prices, which it believed was tlie.fundamenlal problem to-day.
