ANNUAL CHURCH EFFORT
METHODIST LADIES’ GUILD A series of. efforts by the Ladies’ Guild of the Bright Street Methodist Church in aid of its funds culminated on Thursday evening. The school hall had been gracefully decorated by a committee of ladies, and flowers and. festoons presented a very pleasing appearance. The Rev. W. J. Elliott presided, and briefly welcomed the members of a good audience. The following programme was ably carried out, recalls being frequently demanded:—Pianoforte solo, Master Banks; violin solo, Mr. .1. Leo; competition; monologue, Miss Joy Soaley; song in costume, Miss Bradlield. violin solo, Mr. Allott; song, Mr. Sloanc; humorous sketch, Messrs. Stan. Vincent, Lcs. Anderson and Bert Shan; monologue, Miss Bradfield.
Mrs. ]>. C. Bayly, on behalf of the Ladies’ Guild, presented to the chairman the gifts of money in aid of the church funds, when in addition to praiseworthy support by the guild and Girls’ Club, a fairly substantial amount was given. ;
■ A delicious supper was served by members of the guild, and the chairman warmly thanked the ladies and all who had aided in the satisfactory achievement. A pleasant evening concluded with the singing of the Doxology.
