EGGS FED TO CALVES

MAFFRA, (Vic.), Nov. 16. Owing to the low price of eggs, a Maffra district farmer is using them for feeding calves. The feeding process is novel—the egg is put into the calf's mouth and passed to the throat. Then the throat is grasped tightly, the egg is thus broken, and the crushed shell and its contents complete the journey to the stomach. The calves are doing well on this diet.
