FUTURE POSSIBILITY DISPLACING MOTOR CAES LONDON, Nov. 23. Airplanes cheaper than motor cars will be available in 1933, says the Daily Express aviator expert. lie estimates that 150,000 young men and women would go in for flying if it were as cheap as motoring. With engine, a light aircraft costs £3OO. A motor-cycle engine could be fitted to a machine for £25. Aircraft had already been tested which would bo marketable, in mass production, at probably £IOO. Admittedly, they would be unsuitable for long distances, but would be suitable for short business and pleasure journeys. Five firms were developing aircraft at prices ranging from £l5O to £3lO, compared with the cheapest at present marketed at £550.
