STOPPAGE AVERTED
BRITISH COTTON INDUSTRY
LONDON, Oct. 23. A stoppage of the spinning section of the cotton industry on Monday was averted after 8H hours’ negotiation. 'The agreement provides for a wage reduction of 18id in the £, and ooiucs into operation on October 31. The employers asked for 20LI as a basis of settlement in the recent dispute in the weaving section.
