200-MILE WALK
SURVIVOR OF MASSACRE SAFE DARWIN, Oct. 10. A missionary who arrived from Mullimbingi mission station yesterday reported that the Japanese, Kinjd, who escaped into the bush when the Caledon Bay natives massacred his mates, had arrived at the mission with four Molvillc Islanders and two Goulburn islanders. The men had walked more than 200 miles through bush and swamps and jungle, and had crossed rivers and bays, living on tood obtained in the bush. They arrived exhausted but in good health. The journey took nearly a fortnight to accomplish.
