RURAL BANK FORECLOSURES DENILIQUIN (N.S.W.), March 21. At the annual meeting of the local branch of the Farmers and Settlers’ Association the president, Mr. ,J. A. Lawson, referring to settlement along the Moulameiu railway, said that the New South Wales Government had not carried out its obligations under the border railways agreement, hut had been content to aHow private subdivision and boom prills.
The result, he said, bad been one of the greatest tragedies ever known in the history of land settlement. Farmers 'who came with capital and plant were, to-day ruined men lie already knew of 14 farmers who had been pushed off or who had deserted their holdings because the position was untenable. The only part the New South Wales Government had played was through the Rural Bank, and nearly all the foreclosures were upon holdings financed by that bank. This year there were going to be more foreclosures.
