OPPOSITION TO SOVIET ROME. Nov. 30. Tho Vatican has learned that Monsignor Massimo, a Russian Orthodox bishop, was shot on July (i for refusing to adhere to the Metropolitan Sergius’ acknowledgement of the Soviet. Father' Romano Medvied was sentenced to death on a similar charge, hut the sentence was commuted to 10 years’ imprisonment.
