OLD TIME SOCIAL AT PATUTAHI

The amusement circle of the Patutalii Women’s lastitnte organised a most successful, old-time social evening last -Saturday. The items included many nld-time dances and gongs. The quadrilles proved hilarious and the Cireursian Circle was demanded a second time. The polka, vgleta, and barn dance were danced with the spirit oT the “good old days.’’ “My l’olly’’ waltz and similar old favorites brought back many sweet memories. The music was supplied by Mesdames Walker. A. Hail, Miss Allan arid Mr. Robb. A popular extra was played hy Mrs. Ladd. Miss E. Bilham proved n very energetic and efficient M.U. A clever one-net comedy by Gertrude Jennings, “Between the Soup and the Savoury, ’’ was splendidly acted by Mesctames Peach, Atkins and MrDmrioit. This proved one of the most popular items of the evening. Supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mesdames Peach and McDermott, assisted by a, band of willing helpers.
