A 1 Capone, the gangster leader, on Saturday was sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment and fined £IO,OOO, and in addition he must pay costs of the prosecution, following conviction for evasion of the income tax laAvs. The defence announced that an appeal would bo taken. Mean-while, Capone has been sent to prison. Apart from the sentence and fine, Capone must pay. £20,000 and £27,460 due for backineohic taxes.
