CHAINED DANCERS
PUNISHED BY I.R.A. BELFAST, Sept. 10. In the early hours of this morning armed men visited places in Armagh where dances were being held and calleJ out various men. These were blindfolded and conducted to a vault in the Cathedral grounds, where they were ecu rt-martialied for their alleged a'ction in sending out warning notices in the name of the 1.1t.A. to protestant residents in Armagh. It is stated that the I.R.A. resented its name being attached to the letters, and took action to punish the offenders. The men were subsequently found drained to the railings ot the Roman Catholic Cathedral at 4 o’clock in the morning. J’im.-ed beside them was a notice that they had been convicted of using the name of the 1.R.A., with which they had no connection.
The police and the men concerned have nothing to say about the affair.
