The draining of 7.600 .acres of, the ihiawaro block, 10 miles west of Huntley, in the Raglan County, is to be carried out shortly by unemployed single men from Auckland. A camp is tp.,be established in tho locality next .week and approximately 60 men will be accommodated. The work is..expected to take eight - month's to complete, The cost will he approximately £3OOO, ,of which the settlers linvo subscribed £6OO.
