BRITISH COUNCIL TO URGE REFORM LONDON, October 7. The formation of a British Fixed Calendar Council tq press for the universal adoption of a simplified calendar year of 13 months of 28 days each was announced yesterday. Sir Josiali Stamp, Mr. Gordon Selfridge, Mr. Ramsay AJuii', Sir Herbert Walker and Sir Ralph Wedgwood are among its leading members. The plan for a uniform and more rational calendar is to be considered on October 12 by the Geneva International Conference on Calendar Reform. The* British Council will act as a central body. to . co-operate the efforts being made by industrialists, business leaders, temipniiSts, and M.P.’S of all parties to educate public opinion upon the need for reform.
