FIRST DAY ACCEPTANCES GOOD FIELDS PROMISED Judging by the acceptances received last evening for the first day’s events at the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s spring meeting,, on Thursday next, the racing should bo decidedly interesting. All tbo events with the exception of the Hurdles Handicap will present good fields, and if alf the acceptors 'in the hurdles go to the post, there will- be a two-dividend race in this instance also. The principal event, the Spring Handicap, has retained eight of the nominated horses, and the Flying Handicap should be well contested likewise. The Maiden Scurry is the most generously patronised by' owners, 'as usual, and 16 horses have been accepted for in this connection, the next best field in point of numbers being promised in the Roseland Hack Handicap, for which 12 horses have been left in by their owners. The acceptances are as under : Junction Handicap, five furlongs.— Hunting Day 10-.5, Sunny -Sky 8.11, Toboggan 8.10, King Wangn 8.1),-Lotus Lily 7.12, Master Cynic 7.2, Little Wonder, Stitch, Master Frank 7.0. First Hurdles Handicap, 1 it miles.— Russet Moor 10.10, Royal Elm 10.5, Simeon 10.2, Whakaari 9.11, Erin’s Boy, Tall Timber 9.0. Rbseland Hack Handicap, .six furlongs. —-Tarehtt -9.0,' Lordly' Knight 8.12, Sunny Song' 8.11, Bob In .8.1, Nahi, lago >7.13, Golden. Pennant. 7.9, Nigger Head, Malapert, Little Wonder 7.8, Stitch 7.7, Voloce 7.5. . Spring Handicap, 1| miles.— Autumn Sun 8.13.
