CANNING MACHINE
INVENTED BY COMEDIAN’S SON
LONDON, October 12. The Daily Express says that Mr. D. L. Leno, son of the famous comedian, lias invented a canning machine eliminating Hie cumbersome retort system and substituting a single process from cooking to cooling. “It only requires 64 square feet of space,” says the paper. “This all-British machinery costs £9OO, compared with £SOOO for a similar American plant. Three international canning firms on the Continent are scrapping their machinery and replacing it with Mr, Leno’s invention.”
