STORE SHEEP IN DEMAND A good demand for store, sheep, but a slight easing in the values for pigs, were noticed at the Matawhero stock sale yesterday. The entry of store ,sheep totalled 1850. The sale was generally l/rmk, showing a good demand for all classes, a few lots passed in being sold afterwards. There was a good yarding of hoggets, many pens being well grown and carrying plenty of condition; they met with good competition throughout, with prices advancing. Ewe hoggets of good quality made 11s G(1 and 12s, these prices being obtained for top lines. Good hoggets generally ranged from 8s 2d to '9s lid, and medium to small hoggets 7s Gil to G;> Id. Hoggets off shears 7s 9d to 8s Bd. A small pen of good conditioned ewes with lamb's fit for killing readied 17s Gd. Fairly good lots made round about 11s, and .several pens of owes with doubtful mouths;, and fairly good lambs ranged from 8s to 9s Id. Good solid wethers from the Coast, in fat and forward condition, sold at 12s, while fairly good wethers made 9s fid to IDs 4d. The general tendency of tlic sale for store sheep was for prices to advance, except in the case of most lots of ewes with lambs.
