THE WHEAT MARKET (Received October 24, 3 p.rn.) WINNIPEG, October 23. A statement issued by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics reporting that the world movement in the 11 weeks of the new crop is proving of record proportions, sent May wheat up to 63| cents a bushel, establishing a new high level for the year. Foreign buying, short covering, and commission house 1 commitments lent a strong tone to the transactions. LONDON MARKETS The Rank of New Zealand is in receipt of the following advice from London as at the close of business this week: “Wethers : There is only a poor demand. It is thought that prices have reached bottom. Ewes: The reduction in prices has improved the demand. Lambs: Lower prices are expected in the near future. The market is depressed owing to heavy supplies of Australian lamb. Quotations: Wethers, light 4d to 4fd, heavy 3d to 4d; ewes, 2ld to 3jd; lambs, twos 7j(d to Bd, eights 6jd to 63d, fours sjd to 6d, seconds 6d to 6Jkh”
