DAIRY HERDS MORTGAGED “I am being asked every day to see if I can help farmers in their finance, and I find that in numbers of cases they have mortgaged their dairy herds 1 in order to be able to pay interest arrears,” said Mr. H. G. Dickie, MG’., speaking at a gathering of farmers in Tokaora, Taranaki. That procedure; Mr. Dickie considered. was one which was heading for destruction. Do far as ho had been able to ascertain, mortgagees generally' were meeting their mortgagors very well, and there had been noticeable a general writing down.
