INDIA'S NEW CAPITAL
COST NEARLY £11,000,000 NEW DELHI, Feb. 21. India's handsome new Imperial capital, inaugurated by the Viceroy with such brilliant ceremonies a few days ago, has. so far, cost nearly £11,000.000, including buildings, roads, and services. This total includes 39£ lakhs (£296,250) paid to the joint account of Sir Edwin butvens and Sir Herbert Baker, the architects, and six lakhs (£45,000), the rosfc of building the war memorial arch 'it honor of India's 70.000 fallen soldiers.
