OFFERS EQUAL 1257three RISES SINCE YESTERDAY MARKET IMPROVEMENT EXPECTED Agents are active at present endeavoring to make purchases of butter on an f.o.b. basis, and three rises in the offers made are reported since yesterday, lhc latest offer is equal to 125 s per cwt, and in view of this a further advance in the London market rates is expected. Sunderland, secretary of the Kia Ora Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., who said that from yesterday at 10.30 a.m. until this afternoon no less than three offers, each succeeding one higher than the other, had been received bv him. "The first offer, he said, was Hid per lb, equal to 119 s per cwt, which was better than the latest market quotations The second was llfd, while tins afternoon sales were sought for Januaiy, February and March shipment at 12d per lb, equal to 125 s per cwt. “These are good indications that the prospects are very bright,” commented Mr. Sunderland, who said that in providing a calculation of the 12d per lb offer being worth 125 s per cwt, it was borne in mincl that the agents would pay only 112 s in New Zealand, but 13s in charges had to be taken into consideration.
