Tho report emanating from Dunedin recently to the elfect that a merger of tho firms of Bairaud and Abraham and Oswald M. Smith’s, Ltd., has been completed is somewhat prcnlature, and the Wellington Lost, is advised that it is not strictly correct. Negotiations 'j for amalgamation have been on foot for some, time, hut have not yet been finalised. It is, however, probable that the grocery department of Barruud 1 and Abraham will be taken over by Oswald M. Smith, Ltd., while the seeds npd produce department, will be carried on'by a combination of IBarraud and Abraham’s present shareholders under the style of Barrnud and Abraham Seeds, and .under the management of Mr. Lionel (Abraham, a founder of the old company.
