TEAMWAY RETRENCHMENT (Per Press Association.) CURISTCHURGff, this day. lletrenchments in the tramway service are expected to take place immediately after the holidays. A special meeting of the Tramway Union was held, last night to discuss the matter, arid although no statement was made officially it was learned that the union trad decided to send'an “ultimatum’’ to the hoard. Officials of the union are reticent, hut it is understood, that tire board proposes to dispense with the services of 14 almost immediately, and another 14 in the course of a few days.
