A REVOLT IN BURMA

UNEMPLOYED BLAMED LARGE SCALE ACTIVITIES DELHI, Dec. 27. Further details regarding the Burma disturbances reveal that tlie revolt was organised on.a large scale. The rebels, KUO strong, were dressed .in a dark uniionn, with a blue shirt- with a white cross. They were well armed and showed evidence ot discipline in their clashes with the troops and police. They earned out the murders with.the greatest ferocity. Their headquarters are believed to be in the heart of the jungle. It is estimated that they lost 120 killed and wounded. The cause of the revolt is uncertain, but it is suggested that the rebels are bands of workless, due to the low price of rice, and who are out for loot. A lull battalion of the Burma Rifles has been sent to Tharrawaddy, where disaffection is prevalent. Several towns have formed civil guards to assist the military and police. The rebels are using motor buses to convey the men to the places attacked.
