"T consider that a man who has money to attend the races is not a case requiring relief from our depot,” said Mrs. Marshall Macdonald, who is me of the officials in charge of .the Mayor’s Belief Depot in Dunedin, in making reference to a case quoted during a. deputation of unemployed to tho Mayor. Mrs. Macdonald said that (he man did not receive a com pi i montnry ticket from the Forbury Park Trotting Club committee, and that, it was stated that ho had patronised the totalisator. Therefore, she considered that he was not deserving of relief, and that it. was grossly unfair to a large number who were genuinely requiring relief and to those who were generously contributing to the depot.
