Sim loads at Auckland on Monday, and sails that night for Coast bays and Gisborne. The Tiroa and Karoro returned to Gisborne yesterday afternoon after lightering ’ the Beumohr at Tolaga Bay. The Tiroa was loading wool for Napier this morning, and will ho dispatched on Friday afternoon. The Huamii loads at Gisborne for Wellington on Monday. Captain W. E. Baines, who has been in charge of various vessels belonging to t|m Richardson line for the past 14 years and who is shortly to take up the position of harbormaster at Patea, was mot in Napier by the staff of the company and various other shipping interests’ representatives. Mr. K. McLeay, managing director of Richardson and Co., on behalf of the gathering expressed regret at Captain Barnes’ departure after having served the company so well. Mr. McLcay congratulated Captain Barnes upon his new appointment and after wishing him every success in the future presented him with a wallet of notes on behalf of the shipping community of Napier. Captain Barnes made a suitable reply.
