Stating his opinion was that the cause of a break in a sewer in bower Cuba street last year, which resulted in premises occupied l hv Davis Bros., auctioneers, becoming Hooded, was an earthquake—an act of Cod —the Chief .Justice, Sir Michael Myers, gave judgment for the Wellington City Council in a claim for damages amounting to £290 19s 9d brought against it by the firm mentioned.
