DEATH OF A CYCLIST PARENTS AWARDED £SOO (Por Press Association.) CHR.IMTC'IIUROII, this day. As a sequel to a smash on the l\ieearton road on August 2, when a car driven by Edgar Clement .Mann ran into a bicycle and killed the rider, Elizabeth Irvine, the parents of the young woman claimed £ISOO damages in the Supreme Court, before the Chief Justice, Sir .Michael Myers, and a jury of 12. The plaintiffs were Joseph Irvine, of Christchurch, a retired bootmaker, and his wife, Sarah Ann J rvine. Mr. Thomas, who appeared for Mann, a farmer, of Temperton, admitted liability, and the jury wore asked to fix the amount of damages. Mann had paid £250 into court as compensation. The jury awarded £SOO.
