PRIMARY COMPETITION The second round of the primary schools’ cricket competitions began on Monday. Mangapapa, 70 (Higgs 30, Harrison 26: Patty taking four for 31 and Cotter two for 6) defeated Maris is 32 and 42 for eight (J. Cotter 26; Bissendon taking three for 11 and three for 18, and Harrison four for 6 and two for 19),. Gisborne 110 for six (Russell 52. retired. Green 11, retired, Barnes 12: E. Post taking three for 20) beat Awapuni 61 (J. Post 35. E. Post 13: Russell four for 21, and Barnes six for I 4). . . Kaiti 60 for six (Bright 27 not. out, Slovens 15; Bond two for 7) defeated To I (aparu 36 (Boud 12; Barbour taking five for 9, and Stevens two for 3). All of the wins were two-point wins. The, positions in the championship table are now: Kaiti 12, Mangapapa 0, To Hapara 8. Marists 6, Awupiuii 3. Gisborne 2, the first round having been played last autumn.
