MIRACULOUS ESCAPE
CAR FALLS 20QFT. father and son quit in time Aii escape was made from a motor car ou the edge of a bank by father and son just in tjnie yesterday afternoon. Immediately^'the car craslie 1 iJOOiT. and burst into flames. The occupants of the car, an open fidesealer, were Mr. Bert Lowe and his son, who were travelling towards Gisborne on tliu Coast road. Near the (tlenioj station, tho steering gear failed at a bend. The brakes were - promptly applied, rfiid 1 lie car stopped on tlm edge of tho road. The son jumped out, and held tho car until the father was able to make good bis escape, only just- in time, for the car immediately made a dive to Ibo 200 ft. drop. On reaching tho holloin, the vehicle, burst- into Jinnies. Tho body of tho ear was smashed, but a peculiar feature was that all the lamp glasses were intact.
