Allen, chief veterinary officer of the Department of Markets, ssued a report advising growers in Australia to raise "at lambs for ex j port of the type produced in New Zealand, which .were •the best in the world. He says breeds should be largely confined' to the Downs type, mid a iso Border Leicester and Romney Marsh.
He is of .the opinion that production in maiiv parts of Australia of wollj’ormod nice sappy lamb's with a maximum of bloom should not he difficult, and should seriously compete with New Zealand supplies.
