CHARING CROSS BRIDGE (Rritish Official Wireless.) Roc. 10 a.m. RUGBY, April 15. The Select. Committee of the House of Commons, to whom , the £11,000,000 Charing Cross Bridge scheme was referred, having rejected the isite on the south ’ side of the River Thames for the proposed new station to replace Ohnring Cross station in the Strand, a preliminary conference was held this morning to consider the possibility of amending the scheme. Those opposed (o the project are for the most part prepared to consider an amended scheme, nrovided adequate provision i? made by it for the development of the south side of the river.
