NO CONCESSIONS MADE THE EGYPTIAN TREATY . NEGOTIATIONS NEARING END (E!cc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received April 10, 11 a.m.) LONDON, April 15. !i is learned that Australia’s vital concern in the Anglo-Egyptian treaty negotiations, namely, the Suez Canal, has been satisfactorily settled. It is stated that Australia’s requirements that the canal he sacrosanct is guaranteed, but- there will be some slight modi (Rations in the Mahmoud draft treaty by which, possibly, the Egyptians will have some nominal pari, in the joint: control. It is expected that to-night’s parley will be momentous. It is stated that ihe British wmo determined to settle she Sudan question during the sitting, ami that if the Egyptians do not agree to the proposals from Ihis morning’s special meeting of Cabinet the British are prepared to sit up all night while die Egyptians retire to think over mailers, and if they are still not agreeable the British might immediately conclude the parleys. Practically all the clauses have been sell led except- four points, including the major Sudan issue, and also the Egyptians’ demand that they alone should decide when Egyptian troops are competent to guard ihe canal. It is unlikely that Air. Henderson will make the slightest compromise on such a proposal.
