Coop being in the chair. | The organiser, Mr. A. Cassia, ex- ! plained arrangements he had made for \ rile carnival at the end of next month, and said a number of firms had been approached to stage exhibits, while he suggested that the association should erect a stall for the exhibition of the plans of a showground in addition to other stalls for the display oi fruit and produce. Cattle and sheep should be exhibited for the purpose of various competitions. He was endeavoring to secure the services of Maori entertainers, which should prove a novel attraction, Borne of the firms had promised assistance of their staffs to help during the progress oi the carnival in order to nave expert supervision. A total of 150 hams had been ordered for the various competitions. AhsuggosUon to stage motor ear exhibits was made by the organiser, but it decision on the point was deferred It was later decided that there be only Jfi stalls, six for trade exhibits and six for the committee's special
i purposes. Discussion took place concerning the decision to hold an art union, a license lor which had been received for prizes totalling £l5O. It was decided to apply lor an extension of the closing dale from May 31 to June 30. it was decided to hold the ball in the Maori meeting house at Kaiti.
