DANGEROUS DIET CRAZE
NEW YORK, Feb. 20. No less ;in authority than SurgeonGeneral Hugh K Cummins, head of the United States public health service, is in favor of short shirts for health, but declares that girls should not diet. The mortality rate among young girls has increased sharply in recent years, says Dr. Cummins, and he attributes it to “the diet craze,” which he calls “both silly and dangerous.” The Surgeon-General adds that skirts, ia his* opinion, should not bo worn lower than tho knees.
