AUCKLAND’S RECEPTION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The civic reception to Flying Officers Piper and Kaye was marked by great enthusiasm. Responding. Flying Officer Kaye said they did not expect to have a welcome anything like that given them. All honor was due to Mr. Chichester, who was the first New Zealander to get across. “We did not anticipate any honor,” said Flying Officer Kaye, “wo were only flying home.” (Laughter and loud applause). He thanked the Mny6r and citizens for their great welcome, and also the Aero Club for their hearty invitation “That’s all I can say,” he concluded, amidst laughter and applause.
