SALE AT WESTFIELD STEADY ALL-ROUND DEMAND (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. At West-field fat stock market, beef was offered in lesser numbers than last week. The quality was first-class, and a steady demand was experienced, values . remaining very firm at full rates. Good quality medium weight bullocks realised £l3 15s to £l4 7s fid; good quality lighter bullocks £l2 17s fid to £l3 12s fid; light £ll 12s fid to £l-2 os; unfinished £9 12s fid. Cow and heifer beef was filso yarded in less than usual numbers, but the quality was good and the demand strong. Values remained firm at late rates. One line of 14 head of prime young cows and heifers from Tualcau realised the fine average of £. ( ) 14s Cd. Extra prime young cows and heifers realised £9 15s to £lO 10s; medium £8 5s to £9; lighter sorts £7 to £8; other tillable -cows £0 to £fi 17s fid; extra choice ox sold to 37s per 1001 b.; choice and prime 34s to 365; plain and secondary 32s to 33s Cd; prime young cow and heifer 30s to 335; just killable 25s to 295. Sheep came forward in usual numbers and there was a steady demand. Values were very firm at full late rates. Extra heavy prime wethers brought 29s’ to 29s 9d; heavy prime 27s 9d to 28s; medium 235. fid to 26s 9d; light and unfinished 20s to 225; heavy, prime eVees 18s. . Lambs were yarded in numbers well up to the average. A steady demand existed, and late rates were well maintained. Heavy prime lambs realised 20s; medium 18s fid; light 17s fid. Calves were penned in average numbers and sold at late rates, with the exception of medium and light vealers, which registered prices rather in excess of those ruling at late sales. Runners brought up to £6; heavy vealers £4 10s to £3; medium £4 to £4 10s; light £2 15s to £3 17s fid; rough £1 2s to £2 10s; small 18s to £1 15s; fresh dropped to 16s. Pigs, in consequence of the recent all-round drop, the offering was considerably higher, but in spite of this fact the market showed no recovery. Choppers sold up to £3; heavy baeoners £3 13s to £4; medium £3 5s to £3 12s; Ligh+ £2 15s to £3 3s; heavy porkers £2 6s to £2 14s; medium £1 18s to £2 ss; light £1 Is to £1 16s.
