IMPROVED FINANCES (P«7- Pr»ss Association.) WELLINGTON, last night, The Mayor announced at the Chamber of Commerce annual dinner that the affairs of the city were more flourishing. In the caso of the general account, there was a surplus of £11.941 The departmental profits were as follow : Tramways and buses £1454 (after a loss of £14,000 on buses alone); electric light and power £60,301; milk £6800: total profit £80.496.
