P.B. UNION MEETS NOMINATIONS CLOSE APRIL 22 The management committee ot the Poverty Bay Rugby Luioii met last evening, there being present, Messrs. A. S. Parker, chairman, G. •). -leune, G. Dansey, K. Walters, 1 1. Berthelseu. P. Tamihnua, A. Ingram, .1. Primrose, and IV. S. McKee, lion, secretary. Entries for the various competitions were lo have closed last evening, hut, owing to some of the clubs not being in a, position to forward nominations, it was agreed to postpone the closing date for entries till noon on Tuesday, April 22. Messrs, .leune. Dansev, and Ingram were appointed a sub-committee, to receive the nominations and allot tbo draw. The following nominations wero handed in last ('veiling: Old Boys, one senior, one junior, and one third grade team; P.W.D., one senior and one junior; Y.M.P.. one senior and one junior; Rovers, one senior and one Junior; Athletic, one junior and one third : Pirates, one junior. The Pirates Rugby Football Club wrote in connection with one of its members who bail been injured while playing in a match last- season, and who had not yet- received the insurance whHi lie was entitled to. - The matter was left in the. hands of the treasurer, Mr. Jcune. for immediate settlement. It- was decided to adopt the, same scheme ns last, season with regard in tho season tickets. Permission was granted the A.M. P. senior toalu to play at Opotiki on Easter Saturday and at Whakalane on Easter Monday’, and the Rovers senior team to play Waima. at. Waererign-a-hika on Easier Saturday. Mr. Tamiliaria reported that, he would be in charge of the Y.M.P. team during its tour to tho Bay of Plenty. Mr. C. L. Lord notified the union that ho would he unable to resume his duties as official scorer tills season, and thanked members of the union for their kind treatment towards him in the past.— The secretary was instructed to forward a letter thanking Mr. Lord for the aide manner in which he had performed his services during previous seasons. On the motion of the chairman, it was decided to forward a letter to Dr. G. Adams, of Wahgnmii, congratulating him on his appointment as president of the New Zealand Rugby Union this season.
