MAN ELECTROCUTED
FATALITY IN TUNNEL Instant death resulted for Timothy O’Keefe, 27', single, when he jerked from the ground a seven-foot electric lamp standard used to light his labors in number II tunnel past Tangarakan on the Stratford-Main Trunk railway. Mf. O'Keefe was found electrocuted when Iris companions passed by at 2. a.m. on Saturday. Until 1 p.m. he had been seen working. The cause of death evidently was Mr. O’Keefe’s wrenching the spiked liar from the ground so that it made contact with the overhead electric cable from which the electric locomotives receive power. The verdict at the inquest was that death was due to electric shock, accidently received, no blame being attachable to anyone. A long flex of electric cord was used by workmen in the tunnel and the portable light was affixed to a spiked bar, which the workmen shifted ns required. driving the bar into the ground.
