Gillespiel The State Eire and Accident Insurance Co. advised that it could not admit liability for expenses in connection with an accident to Air. G. AY. Lindstroin. The matter having been discussed from the board’s point of view, a subcommittee comprising .Messrs. Chamberlain. Macdonald, Gillespie and the chairman was set tip to ileal with it. The proprietor of the Wuiroa radio service asked the board to donate material supplied in connection with ils establishment to the value of fil .17s (id. The board, considering this would open tlie door for other applications, declined the request. The Auditor-General forwarded the audited balance-sheet. Air. Chamberlain was appointed delegate to the Napier town-planning inquiry,' and Air. Al. R. Shaw for Gisborne. The Minister of Public Works wrote regretting inability to make die reduction in power hoard charges as laid before him by a deputation at Wairoa on November 2.1 last. The Minister stated that the board’s troubles were due to the reticulation of unprofitable territory. Air. Corkill said the Government made no allowance for the fact that the board had to erect the transmission line at a time when prices were at their peak, and tin l Government took it over at the reduced post-war values. .It was decided to reply thanking the Minister for his communication, but again stilting that the board considered it most unsatisfactory, and suggesting dint the district was not getting justice. .Messrs. Macdonald, Gillespie, Gorkill and the chairman were appointed a commit tee to deal with the proposed agreement regarding Waikolcopu in view of the Minister’s letter. Mr. Eustace Lane, who complained of the power board rate and was testing it, asked that the board’s summons be served on liis solicitors, Messrs. O’Malley and Jones. Mr. Tapper brought up the question of reducing the guarantee on the Terapetiki line by the amount of the rate. The finance eommiltee and the engineer are to report. The engineer’s report was adopted. The finance committee and the. chairman were appointed to deal with a request by the Nuliaka Anglican Oluiivh for a reduction in lighting charges.
