A CALLOUS FRAUD
OLD MAN ROBBED OF £2OOO (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. At ilic Supreme Court to-day John James Arthur, a married man with 11 children, received three years haul labor oil charges of false pretences involving £2oo*o, which lie obtained from an old fellow employee, allegedly to invest in mortgages. Mr. Justice Kennedy said lie found ti difficult to imagine a more callous fraud than ibis, practised on an old man tor a sum doubtless representing a lilt; s savings.
